MAPL ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA: Acceptance criteria for this tournament is based on team performance relative to strength of field and rests strongly on performance history and strength of a teams’ competition schedule. The majority of the tournament field (80-90%) will be accepted prior to the Christmas holiday to allow teams to plan travel, etc. The final acceptances and complete tournament field will be set after MLK, Jr. weekend events have been concluded.
This is NOT an open entry tournament where team acceptance is done on a first-come, first-served basis. Alternatively, acceptance criteria is based on team performance relative to strength of field and rests strongly on performance history and strength of a teams' competition schedule.
MAPL COMPETITIVE DIVISIONS
MAPL events have three (3) mixed age-level divisions* to allow for excellent inter-regional competition.
BLACK division: 16**, 17, and 18 & under
BLUE division: 14**, 15 and 16 & under
RED division: 13 and 14 & under
*Age divisions refer to USA Volleyball age designations.
**Only select 16s and 14s teams [usually 8-10 total per division] will be placed in the Black division and Blue division respectively. Placement in the 'higher' division is based on team performance as assessed by the MAPL Competition Committee. Teams are encouraged to register for the division of preference based on the age levels above but read below to see how we handle acceptance, division placement, and seeding.
Teams wishing to be considered for first round acceptances must have entered and paid by DECEMBER 13, 2019.
Late Registration available from Dec. 13 - Mar. 3 but availability not guaranteed.
TEAMS NEW TO MAPL:
New teams, or those concerned about team acceptance, MUST COMPLETE a PRE-ACCEPTANCE SURVEY which is used to assist the MAPL Competition Committee with team acceptance criteria.
Each registering team must complete the Hotel survey as part of acceptance process. It will be available in September
Teams will not be considered for entry until payment is received by Dec. 15, 2019.
Teams will not be accepted into the event until they complete the Hotel/Housing Survey which will be available Oct. 1, 2019.
The Pre-acceptance survey should be completed for acceptance consideration, ONLY teams who have submitted payment for entry will be considered.
Please make sure to enter all results into AES for entry consideration and seeding. It is each teams responsibility to maintain results.
Teams are permitted to register for the event without rosters. However, in order to ensure that coaches, team representatives, etc. receive vital tournament information via AES email it is imperative that rosters be loaded into AES as soon as possible.

Teams that are not accepted into the tournament may remain on a waiting list - checks will not be cashed for teams that are not accepted into the event.
REFUND POLICY: A full refund will be given with written notice to MAPL YORK [email@example.com attn: Sindee) if received by December 14. There will be no refunds for withdrawn or dropped teams after this date.
